Alice Riggs, 90

Alice Christina Riggs, 90, of Grand Island, passed away Oct. 26, 2012, at Lakeview Living Center in Grand Island.
Alice was born Oct. 24, 1922, in Callaway, to Chris and Johanna (Mogensen) Bonde. She grew up in the Callaway area, graduating from high school there. She then attended beautician school in Hastings.
Alice married Gordon Lucky in 1946. After marrying Leone Riggs in 1951, Alice spent most of her life in Dunning where they owned and operated the Riggs Tavern and Alice’s Beauty Shop. Upon her retirement, they moved to North Platte. Leone died in 2007 and Alice moved to Grand Island to be closer to family.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers and sisters, Oscar, George, Henry, Edith, Addie, Anna and Florence, and great-grandson, Daniel Halbert-Rodocker.
Survivors include one son, Mike and Kathy Lucky; daughter, Crystal Dawn and Ben Barends, and daughter Janet Riggs; step-daughter, Patty Cerda and step-son Jim Riggs; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services were Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Callaway. Pastor Dale Coates officiated. Memorials are to the Donor’s Choice c/o of 4210 Stoneridge Path, Grand Island, Nebraska 68801.
Arnold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
