The Broken Bow School Board will conduct follow-up interviews with two superintendent candidates this week.
Mark Sievering, current superintendent at Conestoga Schools, will interview at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Matt Fisher, current superintendent at Chase County Public Schools, will interview at 7:00 p.m. The interviews will be open to the public.
âThe board thanks the staff, administrators and community members who provided very valuable input following candidate interviews last week,â said board president Michelle Zlomke. âThe district is very fortunate to be able to choose from such a quality group of candidates.â
At the boardâs October 2011 meeting, the Nebraska Association of School Boards was approved to conduct a superintendent search on behalf of the district. The search firm selected their choices for best candidates for the position based on community surveys, public input, and a leadership profile developed by the board two years ago to help determine just what is expected of the superintendent.
The board selected four candidates to interview following a closed session meeting Jan. 10, to screen all applicants for the position, which will begin July 1, 2012.
The PTA hosted Meet & Greet meetings in the high schoolâs media center throughout last week, with the public having the opportunity to meet each of the four candidates.
The agenda for Wednesday eveningâs meeting does include a possible superintendent contract offer as an action item.
