Ansley, Litchfield announce coop agreement

October 13, 2011

Due to declining student enrollments and a desire to continue providing quality extra-curricular athletic programs, the Ansley and Litchfield Boards of Education have voted to approve a cooperative agreement involving girls’ and boys’ athletic programs for grades 7-12. Some of the cooperative agreement will be phased in during the existing school year with the start of Junior High Wrestling, Junior High girls’ and boys’ basketball and track along with High School girls’ and boys’ track. Next fall, the remainder of the 7-12 (girls’ and boys’) athletic programs will be implemented (football, volleyball, girls’ and boys’ basketball, and wrestling).
Both Boards of Education believe this to be the best decision and feel it best to incorporate as soon as possible due, not only to the declining student numbers, but also to eliminate scheduling problems and other planning logistics.

A really cool initiative taken by Ansley, Litchfield. I am also seeing from the last few years that students and parents are so much obsessed with careers of the children that their sports needs are always ignored, this will really help all round development of children
