Ansley, Mullen earn District Titles, trip to State

The Ansley Lady Warriors and Mullen Lady Broncos are returning to the State Volleyball Tournament next weekend in Grand Island.
Ansley defeated Loomis in straight sets last night 25-11, 25-15 and 25-20 for the Class D2-4 District Championship.
Mullen defeated Hay Springs 3-1 for the Class D2-6 District Championship.
The tournament pairings for the Class D2 field has been set with Ansley earning the No. 4 seed and Mullen getting the No. 8 seed.
Ansley will square off against No. 5 Hay Springs, who squeezed into the tournament via the wildcard, at 5:30 p.m. at Grand Island Central Catholic High School. Following Ansley's match, Mullen will take the court to play No. 1 Sterling at 7:30 p.m., also at GICC High School. If Ansley and Mullen win their first round matches the two will meet in second semifinal Friday morning at 11 a.m. at Grand Island Senior High School.
