Ansley, Sandhills-Thedford - advance to State Tournament

The Ansley Lady Warriors, and Sandhills-Thedford Lady Knights both earned trips to the High School State Girls Basketball tournament in Lincoln next weekend, winning their district finals games Friday night.

Ansley won the District D2-5 final, defeating Wauneta-Palisade 59-28. Sandhills-Thedford defeated Sutherland by a final score of 51-36, to claim the District D1-6 district championship.

Two other area teams who had also advanced to the district finals, saw their seasons come to an end Friday night. Litchfield was defeated by Giltner, 53-26 in District D2-4, while Mullen lost to Wynot in District D2-3, 74-32.

We will have state pairings as soon as they become available.
