Area schools compete in D9 District Track

Twin Loup's Kindra Dunbar and Anselmo-Merna's Libbie Cramer battle for position during the mile-run at the District D9 track meet on Wednesday. Cramer took 1st and Dunbar took 2nd. Both qualified for the state meet in Omaha May 18 and 19.

In the D9 District track meet, area schools had some impressive performances. On the womens side, Anselmo-Merna placed 2nd with a total of 72 points. Mullen took 4th with a total of 62 points. South Loup was 5th with 61 points. Twin Loup placed with 52 points. Sandhills/Thedford took 8th with a total of 22 points.
On the mens side, Twin Loup came away as district champions with 138 points. South Loup was 2nd with 133 points. Anselmo Merna placed 4th with 64 points. Mullen was 6th with 34 points and Sandhills/Thedford took 10th with one point.
