US swimmer Michael Phelps won an historic eight gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games, overtaking compatriot Mark Spitz, whose seven swimming golds at Munich in 1972 were, up until now, the most at a single Games. Phelps, 23, also broke seven world records and became the most successful Olympian of all time with a career 14 gold medals. Phelps talks about the exploit at a press conference. |
