Bonnie Guilford, 82
Bonnie L. Guilford, 82, of Broken Bow died Nov. 14, 2010.
Bonnie L. Guilford was born July 22, 1928, in Broken Bow to Roy and Hazel (Helmick) Ferguson. She lived in the Round Hill and Burr Oak community most of her life. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1946. Thereafter she attended Kearney College and graduated as a teacher and starting teaching at a country school called Flatt Bottom.
She was a country woman at heart and lived and worked on a ranch for more than 30 years. In 1980, Bonnie moved to Broken Bow and worked as a nurse with the elderly and then worked at the mortuary for several years. In hard times she was a smiling face.
She was married to Charles Dobesh Aug. 23, 1948. To this union were born, Jacki Ryan and Greg Dobesh.
She was married to James E. Guilford Sept. 17, 1988, and moved to the farm southwest of Broken Bow.
Bonnie and Jim had many wonderful years working in their elaborate garden, traveling, and spending as much time as they could with their children and grandchildren.
Bonnie enjoyed music and especially singing praise and worship music to her Lord and Savior.
Bonnie always loved having her family around her and her family was always her first priority.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Hazel Ferguson; and brother-in-law, Bud Westerlin.
She is survived by husband, James Guilford; daughter Jacki and Maurice Ryan; sons, Greg and Jan Dobesh, John Guilford, and Jim Guilford; sister, Shirley Wood; brothers, Jim and Edna Ferguson, Tom and Robin Ferguson; grandchildren, Kam and Chris Knoell, Kali and Shane Keil, Kaci and Jason Wozniak, Karisa and Nic Province, Kadi Ryan, Kandi and Keith Schrader, Barry Dobesh, Jeana and Chuck Dejean, and Jason and Merideth Guilford, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Bonnie Guilford were Nov. 16, 2010, at Govier Brothers Mortuary with the Rev. Bob Winn officiating. Interment was in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family or Faith Bible Fellowship Church.
