BREAKING NEWS: Bain found guilty

Almost 24 hours after being handed the case for deliberation, the jury in the trial of Tyler C. Bain, 31, returned a verdict Friday afternoon of guilty on four of the five charges against him. The verdict was read at about 2:35 p.m. today (Friday) as follows:
Count 1, 1st degree sexual assault - Guilty
Count 2, 2nd degree assault - Guilty
Count 3, terroristic threats - Guilty
Count 4 - dismissed prior to trial
Count 5, use of a weapon to commit a felony - Not Guilty
Count 6, kidnapping - Guilty

Sentencing was set for April 24 at 10:30 a.m. in Custer County District Court. For complete details of the trial see the Custer County Chief.
