Brenda Minton, 59

Brenda Jean Minton, 59, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at her home in Merna. Brenda was born Dec. 27, 1952, at the Callaway Hospital to Joseph “Joe" and Betty Jean (Ault) Lindner of Oconto, and was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oconto.
At the age of four, Brenda left Nebraska and moved with her family to Utah and then Mesa Ariz. Brenda married Charles "Chuck" Minton May 8, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nev. To this union two sons were born; Martin Leonard and Michael Lee.
ln the mid-90s, Chuck and Brenda moved back to Nebraska into Brenda’s Grandma Lindner's house in Merna.
lmmediate survivors include her husband, Chuck, of Merna; son, Mike and wife of Merna; and brother, Mike and wife of Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul and Jim; and sons, Jimmy Clark and Martin Minton.
Funeral services were Jan. 31, 2012 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Hubert Spanel officiating. Pallbearers were Richard Bader, Leroy Lindner, Henry Lindner, Dave Downey, Steve Downey and Rick Myers.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Broken Bow with lverson Memorial Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to the Merna Rescue.
