Broken Bow juniors beat McCook in District Tournament

July 12, 2013

Broken Bow advanced to the second round of the district tournament with a 9-6 win over McCook Friday afternoon.

This was a high scoring game from the start as Broken Bow broke the game open in the 2nd and 3rd innings, scoring seven of their nine across those two innings.

It was tied at one after the first inning before the Indians scored four in the top of the 2nd and three in the top of the 3rd.

Travis Kleeb went just 1-5, but he made the at-bat count as it turned into a three-RBI double. Tommy McCormick, Hunter Minnick, Scott Davis and Trevor Scott all recorded RBIs for the afternoon.

Broken Bow also took advantage of seven McCook errors.

Broken Bow will now play Saturday July 13 at 8 p.m. at Cozad.
