Charles Minton, 70

Charles Leonard Minton, 70, died March 4, 2014, at his home in Merna. Chuck was born Aug. 8, 1943, at Anderson, Ind., to Leonard A. and Dorothy E. Minton.
Chuck went to school in Indiana and California and then joined and served in the Army from 1962-1965. After living in Indiana and California he later moved to Las Vegas in 1970.
Chuck marrried Brenda Lindner May 8, 1979, in Las Vegas. To this union two sons were born; Martin Leonard and Michael Lee. Chuck and Brenda later moved to Indian Springs, Nev., where Chuck became a DOD police officer.
Chuck retired from the DOD and moved to Nebraska in the mid 1990s. He worked at Adams Land & Cattle until he retired in 2005.
Survivors include his son, Mike and wife Tara of Merna; two sisters, Sue and Ellen; a cousin, Pam Jakes; and one granddaughter, Zoie Minton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda in January 2012; his parents; and his son, Martin Minton.
Funeral services were Monday, March 10, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt officiating. A memorial has been established to the Merna Fire and Rescue Squad. Iverson Memorial Chapel of Broken Bow was in charge of arrangements.
