City of Broken Bow considering purchase of Elks Lodge

Mona Weatherly, Editor

If Broken Bow Elks Lodge #1688 decides to sell its building, the City of Broken Bow is interested in purchasing it. The City Council voted on and approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the council meeting Dec. 22, 2015, on the consideration of the purchase. The MOU must be returned to the Elks Board of Trustees for approval and signature. Brent Clark, City Administrator for Broken Bow, emphasizes that the MOU doesn't mean the building will be sold by the Elks. The MOU simply gives the city first option on the property should the Elks decide to sell. The MOU lists a purchase price of $200,000.00. Possible use of the property, if acquired by the City, could include a new fire station.
