Clifton N. Robertson, 79, of Pine Bluffs, Wyo., went home to be with his Lord April 16, 2014 at the Sun Valley Care Home in Casa Grande, Ariz.
Clif was born June 5, 1934, in Oconto. After his graduation from Callaway High School, Clif migrated to the Hereford and Grover, Colo., area and went to work for Bunell Ranch. Later, Clif came to Pine Bluffs to work for the Gross Wilkinson Ranch and at the RS Walters Grain Elevator. Clif married Linda Bockus May 26, 1955.
Clif served in the Army from 1957 through 1959. He was stationed in Tacoma, Wash., and also served in Alaska. After faithfully serving his country, Clif returned to his work at the RS Walters Grain Elevator.
In 1962, Clif was offered and accepted a job at Ranchers Gas Co, where he delivered propane in rural Pine Bluffs and the surrounding areas. In 1972, he started his own propane company (Wyco LP Gas) and continued to serve his loyal customers until he sold the business in 1997. During this time, Clif and Linda also bought a small farm north of Pine Bluffs where they enjoyed raising wheat and cattle.
Despite his busy schedule, Clif enjoyed coaching Little League baseball for several years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and playing all sorts of games.
Clif is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Gary (Angie) Robertson, Leanne (Dan) DeBruyn, both of Pine Bluffs, Cheryl (Ed) Lake of Arizona City, Ariz., and Gayle (Tom) Carter of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sister, Kay (Dwight) Nelsen and a brother Norman (Judy) Robertson of Nebraska. Clif also was a blessing to his 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Clif was preceded in death by his father, William Robertson and his mother Vera Irene (Overgard) and younger brother, Gerald Robertson.
A memorial service for Clif was held at the Pine Bluffs Community Center Saturday, April 26, with Pastor Dan DeBruyn and Jimmy Carter officiating. Friends may contribute to the Pine Bluffs Baptist Church building fund or to a charity of their choice.
