The ribbon cutting has been scheduled, furniture has been ordered, and if you have driven west of town on Highway 2, you have seen the exciting progress that has happened with the vision of Custer Campus finally becoming a reality for Custer County.
As exciting as it is to see the building that will house Mid-Plains Community College, Bellevue University and other colleges and universities being built, we’re not done yet. The corner stone of this project will be education and will offer an opportunity for many Federal, State, and other facilities to be built and expanded in the future.
More funds need to be raised to complete the project and the Custer Campus directors need your help - $150,000 is the goal needed to finish the building project. Community leaders throughout Custer County stepped up to get the project underway and an astonishing $1.3 million has already been raised. However, additional funds are needed if the project is to be completed.
Specifically, the $150,000 left to raise is to complete the Annex portion of the college. The annex will allow students to get hands-on training, working on diesel engines, combines and other large equipment.
Because donations of all sizes are critical to the campaign, there are several Giving Levels. The levels are: Platinum $50,000 and above; Gold $25,000 - $49,999; Silver $10,000-$24,999; Bronze $5,000-$9,999; Friend $1,000-$4,999; and Partner level with donations up to $999.
Custer Campus can only be a reality from support by each of you. There are many different reasons for supporting Custer Campus: to honor parents or grandparents, to encourage economic growth within the county, or to support the future of education for our area. Whatever your reasons may be, thank you in advance for your support and for helping make Custer Campus a reality.
