Central Nebraska has been asked to brace for more weather Saturday evening. A weather warning from the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m., and followed a few minutes later with a tornado watch for all of Custer County into 1 a.m. Residents are asked to be alert and take cover.

The severe storm that rolled through the county Friday evening downed trees, took off roofs, overturned pivots. Residents were out Saturday morning chain saws in hand. Turn to this week’s Custer County Chief for a tour in pictures of the damage.
