Darrel Clark, 76

Darrel D. Clark died March 14, 2011, in Sargent at his home following a lengthy illness.
Darell was born Jan. 6, 1935, to Allen and Louisa J. (Daugherty) Clark at Round Valley, the youngest of six children. He attended elementary school at Weissert, Round Valley and attened high school in Sargent and Broken Bow.
He enlisted in the United States Army April 22, 1954. He served in Korea with Company A 51st Signal Battalion Corps until Feb. 9, 1956. He was in the Reserves until 1962. Darrel received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He married Louise Sears in 1959. Two children were born to this union; Susan J. and Amy L.
Darrel later married LuEtta Ward in 1977. One daughter, Sharel J., was born to this union.
In 1995 he married Roberta Spencer.
Throughout his years he farmed, worked construction, and worked on ranches in the Sandhills. Following his retirement in the late 90's he enjoyed repairing small engines, fishing, camping, gardening, reading westerns, watching rodeos, and all kinds of animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers, Gale and Dale; sisters, Amy (infancy) and Edna Campbell; brother-in-law, John Campbell, and nephew Johnny Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; daughters, Susan (Tom) Horky, Amy (Randy) White all of Sargent, and Sharel (Jeremy) Olson of Randolph; granddaughters, Randi White and Emilee Olson; grandsons, Josh White, Mikey Horky, Patrick, Blake, Ethan and Carter Olson; four step-daughters, Deb (Jeff) Randall of Bellevue, Karen (Gary) Ronndurg of Tennessee, Kim (Carl) Walker of Illinois, and Jackie (Tracy) Burns of Kearney and their families; brother, Allen (Marge) Clark; sisters-in-law, Irene Clark and Georgia Kuklish all of Sargent; brother-in-law, Gene (Kathleen) Spencer of Grand Island; many nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Jake, his dog.
Graveside services were held at Somerford Cemetery March 19, 2011. Memorials can be sent to The First National Bank, P.O. Box 130,
Sargent, Nebraska 68874 with the intention of fulfilling a longstanding wish of Darrel's to place a flagpole at the Somerford Cemetery.
Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent is assisting with arrangements.
