Delores Poland, 82

Delores “Elaine” (Young) Poland, 82, of Lincoln, died Dec. 31, 2013. She was born June 21, 1931, in Custer County, to Glen and Blanche (Loyd) Young. Elaine was a retired clerk for several local businesses. She was a member of Capitol City Christian Church in Lincoln, and also was active in the Second Baptist Church. She volunteered at BryanLGH Medical Center, the Lied Center and Encounter Center at Morrill Hall.
Family members include daughter, Joey (Roger) Fletcher; son, John Poland, all of Lincoln; grandchildren, David (Katie) Fletcher of Lincoln, Sarah Fletcher of Chicago, Ill., Daniel (Emily) Fletcher of Seattle, Wash., Jonathan and Jonah Poland of Minneapolis, Minn.; several great-grandchildren; niece, Dixie Bonczynski and many other nieces and nephews; brothers, Ed Young, Bob (Jeannie) Young, Larry (Patsy) Young; sisters, Yvonne Osborn, and Cherilyn (Kieth) Mason; sisters-in-law, Marcella Young, Clydia Young, Joan Young, and Helen Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mikel; brothers, Walter, Earl, Lloyd and infant brother Dale; sisters, Donna Swope and Glennola Brewer; brothers-in-law, Dick Osborn and Bill Brewer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Capitol City Christian Church, 7800 Holdrege, Lincoln. Burial will be Thursday, Feb. 27, in the Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow. Memorials are suggested to the Capitol City Christian Church or Deaf Missions. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be left for the family online at roperandsons.com.
