Donald Runyan, 89

Donald G. Runyan, 89 of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012. He was born March 18, 1922, in Mason City, to the late Wright and Eva Runyan.
Don was a veteran of the United States Air Corp. and graduate of Southern Methodist University. He worked for the FAA for 30 years, primarily as an Air Traffic Controller and later in data systems. Don was also a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Sanderlin; son, Mark (Debra) Runyan; brother, James (Barbara) Runyan; granddaughters, Amber and Jamie Burdine and Bailey and Emma Runyan; great-granddaughters, Paityn Burdine and Serenitie Hardman; and many nieces and nephews.
His beloved wife, Glea Runyan, preceded him in death Feb. 3, 2007. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, with the funeral following at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, American Cancer Society, or American Heart Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Family Funeral Care.
