Donations needed for Oconto family

December 27, 2012

OCONTO - - Local fire fighters fought to save the home of an Oconto family early Wednesday morning, but by the time they arrived at the scene it was too late. The Ron and Janelle Alspaugh family was able to escape the home without injury, but lost everything they had in the blaze.

The couple and their four children are all in need of clothing. Sizes needed are: mens pants size 34x34 and XL shirts; womens pants size 3 or 4 and M shirts; girls pants size 1 or 2 juniors and S shirts; girls pants size 10/12 and 10/12 shirts; boys pants size 5/6 and 5/6 shirts; and girls pants size 2t/3t and 2t/3t shirts.

Clothing items, home goods or any other donated items can be dropped off at Eggleston Oil in Oconto, or at the home of Paul Page in Broken Bow at 1145 South 5th Ave.

A fund has also been set up for the family at the Oconto branch of Nebraska State Bank.

The investigation into the fire continues. We will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
