Doris McAlevy, 74

Doris A. McAlevy, 74, of Broken Bow passed away July 3, 2014, at Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.

A memorial service for Doris was July 9, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Broken Bow with Kathy Salts officiating. Burial was at the Merna cemetery.

Doris was born May 8, 1940, at home in Brady to John and Lily (Dovenbarger) Parkhurst.

Doris married Russell McAlevy Aug. 26, 1958, on Travis Air Force Base in California.

Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and three sons, Deanna (Len) Devoto of Vacaville, Calif., Ron (Misti) McAlevy of Broken Bow, Rod McAlevy of Broken Bow, Steve (Jennifer) McAlevy of Broken Bow, and Connie (Guy) Brock of Ord; two sisters, Leota Beavers of Broken Bow and Iona Fisher of Merna. Also left to cherish her memory are 18 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; both her parents; a son, Roland; a brother, Dean Parkhurst; and two sisters, Della Fisher and Leona McAlevy.

Memorial are suggested to the family.

Iverson Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
