Doris A. Roberts, 92, of Sargent, passed away April 11, 2013, at the Callaway Good Life Center in Callaway.
Funeral services were April 15, 2013, at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent, with Pastor Marty Robbins officiating. Burial took place in the New Helena Cemetery.
Doris Arlene Roberts was born Jan. 29, 1921, at Merna, to Wallace and Iona (Lange) Blakeman. Doris was the third child born to this union. She graduated from Merna High School in 1941.
Doris married E. A. (Jap) Roberts Oct. 17, 1941. To this union two sons were born; Wallace (Wally) and Leslie (Shorty) Roberts.
She was a cook at the Sargent Nursing Home and the Sargent Hospital.
Doris entered the Callaway Good Life Center in 2009, where she made a lot of new friends and she always made the staff smile for she was a lovely, kind lady. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Doris is survived by her two sons, Wallace of Sargent, and Leslie and his wife Vesta of Broken Bow; grandson, Bryan and wife Kim of Sargent; granddaughters, Julie Collins of Brule, Tracey and her husband Ed Jamieson II of Goodland, Ind.; great-granddaughters, Marie Roberts of Burwell, Amber and her husband Lee Vincent of Sargent; great-grandsons, Lance and Lathan Collins of Brule; step- grandchildren, Erin and David Sanders of Broken Bow, Luke and Tammy LeFever of Lincoln, BJ and Jennifer Fread of Land O'Lakes, Fla.; step-great-granddaughters, Mikayla Thomas of Tuft, Tenn., Kaitlyn Sanders of Huntsville, Ala.., Cierra Sanders of Winchester, Tenn., Diamond and Edee Sanders of Broken Bow, Harper LeFever of Lincoln, and Daphne Fread of Land O'Lakes, Fla.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Jap; sister, Audry Cluler; brothers, Jack, Don, Charles and Paul Blakeman, and great granddaughter Ava Grace Sanders.
