Dorothy Adams, age 85, of Mason City, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at the Baptist Church in Mason City with the Rev. Bill Ragan officiating. Burial was in the Mason City Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy Adams was born March 22, 1928, near Mason City, to James and Olive (Crosley) Schall. She attended Basin School and graduated from Mason City High School in 1946. She was married to Glenn W. Adams Feb. 8, 1948, in Broken Bow.
The family farmed in the Callaway area for six years before moving to a farm near Mason City, where they farmed until 1970. They then moved into Mason City and operated a feed store and trucking business. Mr. Adams died in 1987. Mrs. Adams continued to live in Mason City.
She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Gibbs of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Nancy (George) Kucera of Litchfield, and Mary Jane (Myron) Beck of La Crescenta, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Vir Jean Adams of Ainsworth; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Norman Schall of Loup City, Robert Schall of Broken Bow, Eldon Schall of Litchfield, Lyle Schall of Broken Bow, and a sister, Phyllis Baltz of Loup City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Roger; grandson, Jason; and two brothers, Kenneth and Dale.
