Dorothy Granger, 90

Dorothy Granger, 90, of Comstock, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at her residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Wescott Baptist Church in Comstock with the Rev. Don Schauda officiating. Burial will be in the Douglas Grove Cemetery west of Comstock. Rhoad Funeral Home of Sargent is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy Rose (Plock) Granger was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Valley County, to Albert and Ethel (Lusk) Plock. She was the ninth child born of 15. She spent her whole life in the Comstock area.
December 18, 1942, she was untied in marriage to Malon Granger in St. Paul. They resided on the Granger family farm until they retired and moved to Comstock in 1980.
Dorothy loved cooking and baking for family, friends and neighbors. She spent many hours gardening and canning. She also went fishing whenever she could get away, but her favorite past time was watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
She is preceed in death by her parents; her husband, Malon Granger; her brothers, Harry, Dorsey, Morris, Albert, Bill, and Don; sisters, Esther Dlask, Evelyn Visek, Thelma Harris, Mary Brass, Betty Hruby, Ethel Fechner, Shirley Hill and Frances Ilene Plock.
She is survived by her sons and daughters in-law, William and Linda of Sargent, James and Marie of Keystone, S.D., Charles and Sheila of Grand Island; daughter, Sandra of Comstock; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews
