Drug bust leads to three arrests

Three Broken Bow residents landed in jail Monday afternoon, after a search warrant turned up drugs at a private residence on North B. According to a press release from Broken Bow Police Chief Steve Scott, the Broken Bow Police Department served a search warrant at 1420 No. B Street at 4:15 p.m. where the three individuals were arrested on drug charges.
Officers of the Broken Bow Police Department and deputies from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brittany M. Baker, 26; Gary A Berlier, 30 and Johnathan A. Shreeves 27 for allegedly growing marijana and for possession of other narcotics.
The three are currently being held in the Custer County Jail, pending bond. All are residents of Broken Bow. Berlier and Shreeves are former residents of Colorado.
They were scheduled to be arraigned in Custer County Court Wednesday morning as the Chief was heading to press. Baker was to be charged with manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana), and Berlier and Shreeves were to be charged with manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine.)
Manufacturing a controlled substance is a Class III Felony punishable by 20 years imprisonment and/or a $25,000 fine, with a one year minimum. Possession of a controlled substance is a Class IV Felony punishable with a 5-year imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine. There is no minimum for a Class IV felony.
