Ena Glass, 94

Ena Margaret (Call) Glass died July 24, 2013, at Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen.
She was born Oct. 9, 1918, at Merna, to Charles Jefferson Call and Dorothy Ann (Kaminska). Ena and her family loved on different farms in the Merna and Broken Bow area and she went to country schools.
Ena met her husband, Willard Hicks, Glass, when visiting her sister in Ashby. They were married Aug. 1, 1938, at Broken Bow, and made their home at Hyannis, where their daughter Gloria Jean (Riese) was born. During WWII, they moved to Zenia, Ohio, and later to Omaha, where Willard worked in Bomber Plants.
In Omaha, their son, Gerald (Gary) Lee was born. After the war they returned to Hyannis and then moved to Whitman in 1953.
Ena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard; her older siblings, Aline, Harold, Lura and Elsie; two grandsons, Lance William Riese and Gerald Lee Glass, Jr.
She is survived by daughter, Gloria; son, Gary; brother, Bob Call of Merna; sister, Mildred Gier of Hershey; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ena and Willard are now together for their 75th wedding anniversary Aug. 1, 2013.
There will be a graveside memorial at a later date. Please make your memorials to they Hyannis Cemetery.
