Pearson Physical Therapy's 2016 Fitness Challenge Fund Raiser is raising money for Burwell residents, Raeleen Beal and Mary Drudik, who are fighting brain cancer. When Becky Pearson of Pearson Physical Therapy talked to Beal about the fund raiser, Beal agreed, but only if Drudik could benefit, too. “She said ‘I won’t let you do it unless Mary is included,’” Pearson said.

Beal has undergone both radiation and chemo and makes trips to see doctors in Omaha so expenses are mounting up. Proceeds of the benefit will be divided between Beal and Drudik.

Feb. 1 through Mar. 18 participants are to track time spent exercising (activity above and beyond your normal routine). Prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded to the participants who have logged the most minutes. Exercise logs are available and the challenge is "on the honor system," Pearson said.

Participants can register in person at Pearson Physical Therapy at 2021 South E (Hwy 2), Suite 1, in Broken Bow or online at www.pearsonpt.com. The registration fee is $25. If you would like to donate a prize for the challenge, call Pearson Physical Therapy at 308-872-5800. There is also a link on the website to make donations directly for Beal and Drudik.
