Four area hoopsters voted to All-State teams

Four area basketball players have been selected to All-State teams released by two of Nebraska’s largest newspaper publications.
Three area players landed on the Omaha World Herald’s list of All-Staters. Mullen senior Gabe Connealy, who averaged 18.1 points per game, was chosen to the Class D2 first team. Ansley junior Siera Rohde, who averaged 11.6 points per game, was chosen to the Class D2 girls second team. Selected to the boys All-State second team in Class D1 was Sandhills/Thedford senior Kale Anderson, who averaged 22.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
The Lincoln Journal Star also announced their All-State teams. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller senior Sara Simmons, who averaged 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds, was selected to the Class D2 girls second team while Anderson represented the Knights on the boys Class D1 second team.
Area players receiving All-State Honorable Mention honors from the Omaha World Herald are as follows:
Class D2 Girls - Anselmo-Merna: Anna Finney, Sadie Hunt and Jessi Burnett. Ansley: Katie Drake and Taylor Rohde. Arcadia: Shayla Trotter and Sapphire Sillivan. Mullen: Mardee Sierks and Tricia Young. Sargent: Jamie Kirwan and Kelsey Frink. SEM: Sara Simmons and Megan Berg.
Class C1 Boys - Broken Bow: Nathan Scott and Marc Sleicher.
Class C2 Boys - South Loup: Aaron Stryker and Chase Schwarz.
Class D1 Boys - Sandhills/ Thedford: Tyler Lee, Brady Marten.
Class D2 Boys - Anselmo-Merna: Joseph Christen. Litchfield: Adam Kucera and Tyson Howard. Mullen: Jake Spies. Sargent: Guy Fenske. SEM: Dillan Line and Lance English.
