George Chilewski, 73

George Louis Chilewski, 73, of Burwell, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, after suffering from a massive brain hemorrhage on Feb. 15, 2011. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Methodist Church in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery with Pastor Bill Stovall officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 -7 p.m. Friday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Memorials are suggested to the family.
George was born Oct. 14, 1937, at the family home in Comstock, to Louie & Martha (McNamee) Chilewski. He married Sharon (Smith) Dec. 18, 1965, in Burwell.
George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chuck; sister, Phylis Plock; father-in-law, James Smith; brother-in-law, Jim (Butch) Smith, and a nephew, Bobby Walker.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, of Burwell; sister, Virginia Walker and husband Bob of Broken Bow; son Jeff and friend Barb Thompson of Holdrege; daughter Karie andhusband Doug Dawe of Burwell.
Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, James Chilewski, Jadyn, Kylr and Zakia Dawe all of Burwell ; his mother-in-law, Lillian Smith; brothers-in law and sisters-in law, Larry Smith, and Terry and Marcie Smith, all of Burwell, Bill and Laurie Smith of O’Neill, Judy and Dave Warner of Ord, and Tammy Standlea of Kearney; and numerous nieces, nephews and very special friends.
