Governor Gregoire is the current chair and Governor Heineman the vice-chair of the National Governors Association. The two talk frequently as leaders of the bipartisan organization representing the nation's governors.
If the Huskers win, Governor Gregoire will send Governor Heineman Washington wild salmon. Should the Huskies win, Governor Heineman will purchase Omaha Steaks for Governor Gregoire.
Governor Heineman said, "I am confident of a Husker win in this rematch. While I prefer Nebraska beef, for one night Sally and I are looking forward to Washington salmon."
Governor Gregoire said, "The Huskies have had an inspirational season and I am confident they will win this year's Holiday Bowl," said Gregoire. "The quality of Washington's salmon and beef are first rate, and my husband Mike and I are eager to taste how Omaha steak measures up. Let the game begin."
The Holiday Bowl will begin at 9 p.m. CT and will be televised nationally on ESPN.
