Helping kids eat healthier

November 7, 2011

Kenny Crawford and Custer Elementary students make fruit smoothies.

Students at Custer Elementary School in Broken Bow were treated to delicious fruit smoothies last week from Grocery Kart, as part of a campaign to encourage youngsters to make healthier food choices. Kenny Crawford, frozen foods manager at GK, was on hand to make smoothies, and some of the kids got to help out.
Kenny, a father himself, believes it is important to equip kids to make good decisions when it comes to what they eat, and was happy to be part of this program.
