The Sandhills/Thedford Knights were able to stay within 10 points of Howells in the first half, but in the second half the Bobcats outscored the Knights 46-12. The 77-33 loss sent the Knights home in the first round of the Boys State Basketball Tournament.
Sandhills/Thedford's Kale Anderson scored 21 of the Knights' 33 total points to lead the Knights in scoring. Sandhills/Thedford's season ends with 19 wins and 8 losses. Howells advances to the Class D2 semifinals to play Pawnee City at 8:45 tonight.
