Indians come up short

BROKEN BOW - - Valentine used tough defense to put away Broken Bow 42-30 this past Saturday.
The match-up was close in the first quarter with Valentine barely outscoring Broken Bow 9-8.
It was in the second quarter when the Valentine defense flexed their muscle and held the Lady Indians to only two points and Valentine would take a 16-10 lead into halftime.
The Lady Indians were able to snap out of their offensive funk in the third quarter and scored six points.
However, Valentine was able to match the Lady Indians with each basket and scored nine points.
Compared to the first three quarters of the game, the fourth quarter was an offensive explosion.Valentine outscored Broken Bow 17-14 to close out the game.
The leading scorer for the Lady Indians was Halie Jones. The junior dropped in a team-high 10 points.
Brittany Leverington scored six points and Taylor Duncan chipped in five points.
Currently, the Lady Indians sit at 3-12

Ansley 56
Pleasanton 28

PLEASANTON - - Ansley used a 19-0 second quarter to carry them to a 56-28 win over Pleasanton.
The Lady Warriors quickly jumped on the Lady Bulldogs in the first quarter and outscored Pleasanton 13-7.
However, it was in the second quarter when Ansley gained all the momentum.
The Lady Warriors put a stranglehold on Pleasanton, outscoring their opponent by a score of 19-0.
Ansley would take a 32-7 lead into halftime.
Compared to the second quarter, the rest of the game was close.
Ansley outscored Pleasanton 13-8 in the third quarter and Pleasanton outscored Ansley 13-11 in the fourth quarter, but that wasn't enough as Ansley dropped Pleasanton by a score of 56-28.
"We got it going in the second quarter," Coach Travis Olson said. "Our bench did a great job of contributing as well."
The leading scorer for the Lady Warriors was Siera Rohde with 19 points.
Katie Drake dropped in 14 points.
Kara Ostrand and Kathleen Ryan both chipped in six points.
Currently, Ansley stands at 11-2.

Litchfield 60
South Loup 23

LITCHFIELD - - Litchfield used a second half offensive burst to carry the Lady Trojans to a 60-23 win.
The first quarter was a defensive battle for both teams, with Litchfield holding a 6-2 scoring lead over the Lady Bobcats.
The second quarter is when Litchfield found their offensive groove.
Litchfield outscored South Loup 18-7.
Litchfield would take a 24-9 lead into halftime.
The Lady Trojans continued to put the pressure on South Loup in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Bobcats 22-7.
Litchfield outscored South Loup 14-7 in the fourth quarter to close out the contest.
Falicia Shepardson was the leading scorer for the Lady Trojans with 17 points. Shepardson was also 5-6 from the charity strike.
Linsy Siegel also contributed with 16 points.
Siegel was dangerous behind the arc, going 3-5.
Leading the way for South Loup was Shayla Dockweiler with seven points. Jordan Rush and Jenna Hoesel dropped in four points.
Currently, Litchfield stands at 6-7 and South Loup sits at 1-12.

Eustis-Farnam 40
SEM 24

SUMNER - - Eustis-Farnam jumped quickly on SEM and buried the Mustangs 40-24.
E-F outscored SEM 12-2 in the first quarter and 13-5 in the second quarter to take a commanding 25-7 halftime lead.
SEM fought back in the second half and scored nine points in the third quarter and 11 in the fourth quarter; however, E-F matched the Lady Mustangs basket-for-basket and sealed the win.
Tabitha Anderson was the leading scorer with six points.
Currently, SEM stands at 6-8.

Arcadia 50
Anselmo-Merna 22

ARCADIA - - Sapphire Sillivan was the leading contributor with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Shayla Trotter also had a great game, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
No A-M stats to report at this time.
Arcadia currently sits at 9-6 and Anselmo-Merna is 1-12

Sandhills/Thedford 72
Hyannis 40

THEDFORD - - Sandhills/Thedford quickly jumped on Hyannis and didn't look back, pounding the Lady Longhorns 72-40.
Shelby Saner was the leading scorer with 16 points. Currently, S/T stands at 13-2.

Ansley 50
Axtell 21

ANSLEY - - Ansley used a fast start to put away Axtell 50-21.
The Lady Warriors outscored Axtell 30-15 in the first half and played great defense in the second half to close out the win.
"We played some great half-court defense," said Coach Travis Olson. "Our half-court offense was the best we have run all year. We were able to get great looks at the basket and knock the shots down."
Katie Drake was the leading scorer with 22 points.
Siera Rohde contributed 10 points and Kate Watts helped out with seven points.

Broken Bow 32
Gothenburg 30

GOTHENBURG - - Broken Bow used a strong second half to upend Gothenburg 32-30.
Gothenburg started off fast and would lead 9-4 after one quarter.
The Lady Indians would fight back in the second quarter, but would enter halftime down 18-13.
Broken Bow gained momentum in the third quarter outscoring Gothenburg 11-6. The Lady Indians outscored Gothenburg 8-6 in the fourth quarter to pull off the win. Brittany Leverington was the leading scorer with nine points.
