Indians move toward playoff spot with win over Swedes

October 7, 2010

The Custer County Chief's feature game of the week was the Broken Bow Indians at the Gothenburg Swedes.
This rivalry was not one to be missed as this year’s game was a battle for the top spot of the District C1-9 standings.
Gothenburg sported an undefeated record going into last night's contest, their Homecoming game, with their biggest win thus far over Minden (4-1).
Broken Bow’s win over Gothenburg moved them closer to an automatic spot in the playoffs, along with another possible district championship.
Last season, Broken Bow traveled to Gothenburg and spoiled their Homecoming festivities when the Indians scored with less than 19 seconds remaining. Broken Bow followed up that dramatic victory with another when they defeated the Swedes in the playoffs to advance into the quarterfinals.
See next week’s Custer County Chief for the full story of this pivotal match up.
