James J. Eacker, 87

James (Jim) Joyce Eacker was born in Ericson Nov. 26, 1924, and grew up in Broken Bow. Jim passed away April 14, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, Calif., surrounded by his family.
He was the 12th child of 15 born to proud parents John Isaac Eacker and Freida Marie (Thomas) Eacker. Jim joined the U.S. Coast Guard Dec. 7, 1942, and was honorably discharged April 19, 1946.
Jim married Geraldine (Jerry) Mae Nunes June 15, 1947. Jim and Jerry lived in Holmes Flat, Calif., from 1947 till 1956.
In 1956, they moved to Buena Park, Calif., where they raised their four children; Joyce, Barbara, James (Jimmy), and Kenneth.
Jim is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy; his parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jerry; daughters, Joyce Sysak (Stan-deceased), Barbara McCullough (Ed), and son Kenny (Dorca); seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, George, Don (Betty), and Kenny; and many nieces and nephews.
