Jane Hodges, 89

Jane Simonson Hodges, 89, died May 9, 2012, at Linden Court in North Platte.
Jane was born March 9, 1923, to Carl and June (Kemp) Simonson at their homestead five miles north of Mullen. Jane graduated from Mullen High School in 1941.
She married Bill Hodges Nov. 7, 1945. They ranched in the Sandhills for several years before moving to Thedford in 1968 to own and operate Hodges' Conoco until their retirement in 1982.
Jane is survived by four sons, Ron (Ardyce) Hodges and Lloyd (Gladys) Hodges, both of North Platte; Mike (Janice) Hodges and Dan (Alice) Hodges, both of Thedford; one brother, Carl (Peggy) Simonson, of Hordville; five sisters, Beth (Frank) Harding, of Mullen, Shirley Nutter, of (Linden Court) North Platte, Harriett (Kenny) Phipps, of Mullen, Pat (Leland) Johnston, of Lincoln, and Audrey McPeak, of Mullen; a sister-in-law, June Simonson Morris of Mullen; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; brother, Kenneth; sister and brother-in-laws, Doris and Clarence Spilker and Carol and Billy Taylor; infant sister, Gwen; two brother-in-laws, Don Moran and Leroy Anders; brother-in-law, Nyle (Gladys) Hodges; and sister-in-law, Aimee Kravcisin.
A graveside service was Monday, May 14, at the Cedarview Cemetery at Mullen with the Rev. Linda Martin of the United Church of Christ of Thedford officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Thedford Art Guild or Thedford EMT's.
Mullen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
