Kay Strong & Carl Prather

Kay Marie Strong, of Grand Island, and Carl Prather, of Randall, Kan., would like to announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Wayne Strong and Jill Strong of Grand Island, formerly of Broken Bow. She is a 1992 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and graduated from Drake University Law School in 1994.
Kay is currently serving as managing attorney at the Grand Island Office of Legal Aid of Nebraska.
She spent 13 years as a foster parent in Custer and Hall counties. She has six daughters and eight grandchildren.
The prospective groom is the son of Vaughn and Joyce Prather of Jamestown, Kan. He is a 1988 graduate of Jewell High School in Jewell, Kan., and attended North Central Kansas Area Vo-Tech in Beloit, Kan., graduating in 1989.
Carl is currently employed as farm manager for Prather Family Farms. He has two sons.
The couple plans to be married March 11, 2011, in Grand Island.
