Knights Volleyball tops Hyannis, SMC in triangular

Sandhills/Thedford picked up two more volleyball wins on Sept.11, beating Hyannis and Stapleton-McPherson County in the SMC triangular.

They started off by beating SMC 25-17 and 25-13. Madison Taylor lead the way with eight kills while Kelsey Higgins chipped in five along with Avery Taylor's five. Taylor Marten finished with three kills while Kaitlin Marten had two.

Kaitlin Marten did a solid job of setting up her teammates with 18 assists.

The Knights spread around the digs and serve aces pretty evenly as well in the victory over SMC. Spencer had four digs while Taylor and Kaitlin Marten each had three. Sarah Miles had five digs while Higgins and Shaina Simonson had two each.

Six players had at least one serve ace and Kaitlin Marten lead the team with 3 serve aces.

After beating SMC, the Knights got a tougher test from Hyannis, pulling out two close sets, 25-21 and 25-23.

Taylor Marten lead the team in kills with six while Higgins finished with four, Milleson and Taylor three and Madison Taylor with two.

Kaitlin Marten equaled her assist total from the SMC match with 18 while Miles contributed 13 digs and had three serve aces.

Sandhills/Thedford moved their record to 5-3 on the season with the win
