Lady Broncos, Knights, Warriors advance to subdistrict finals

BROKEN BOW -- While the basketball season ended for eight area teams, three teams advance to the subdistrict finals, just two wins away from the State Tournament.

The Ansley Lady Warriors advanced to the D2-8 subdistrict final with a 59-39 win over Arcadia Tuesday night. The Lady Warriors will play North Loup-Scotia who was a 49-40 winner over Sargent.
The Mullen Lady Broncos will play Cody-Kilgore Thursday night for the D2-12 subdistrict title. The Lady Broncos were 61-23 winners over South Platte while Cody-Kilgore defeated Hyannis 42-17.
The third team to advance is the Sandhills/Thedford Lady Knights. The Lady Knights were 56-43 winners over Cambridge Tuesday night and advance to the D1-11 subdistrict finals against top seed, Sutherland. Sutherland defeated Maxwell 46-33 in the other semifinal game.
Along with Arcadia and Sargent, other area teams that had their season end Tuesday night were the Broken Bow Lady Indians who lost to Hershey 53-24 in the C1-11 subdistrict. The SEM Lady Mustangs fell to Wilcox-Hildreth 49-48 in the D2-7 subdistrict at Elm Creek. In the D2-9 subdistrict, the Anselmo-Merna Lady Coyotes lost to Eustis-Farnam 39-23.
Monday night three area teams concluded their season in first round of subdistricts. The South Loup Lady Bobcats season ended with a 43-19 loss to Burwell in the C2-10 subdistrict. The Litchfield Lady Trojans lost to Pleasanton in the D2-7 subdistrict 40-32. In the D2-8 subdistrict, the Arcadia Lady Huskies eliminated Loup County 29-25 to end the season for the Lady Wildcats.
