Lillie Babcock, 85

Lillie Jewel (Pirnie) Babcock, age 85, of Grand Island, formerly of the Broken Bow, Dunning, Nebraska area, died Oct. 17, 2010, in the Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Lillie J. was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Groesbeck, Texas, to Daniel C. and Melvinie (Winn) Chavers.
Lillie was married to Gifford Pirnie who died in 1993, and later Robert Babcock.
Lillie is survived by three sons, Alvin Pirnie of Hordville, Montie Pirnie of Phillips, and Rich Pirnie of Ainsworth; two daughters, Lillie Jones of Grand
Island and Marilyn Smith of Kingsville, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nona Mae Downs of Washington; and brother Joseph (Joe) Chavers of Waco, Texas. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; six brothers; five sisters; and a daughter, LaNita Rae.
A Memorial funeral service will be Oct. 22, 2010, at the Bethel Baptist Church, 1223 East 6th Street in Grand Island, NE 68801 at 1 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be Saturday Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Dunning Cemetery in Dunning,with Pastor Alan Davis officiating both services.
Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church in Grand Island, or Saint Francis Home Health of Grand Island.
