Local church plans food drive this week

The Broken Bow branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced its plans to sponsor a food drive to help meet the need for more food at the Broken Bow Food Pantry.

Wednesday evening, July 25, at 6:30, church members, along with members from other area churches, will distribute empty grocery bags with a request to fill the bags with non-perishable food items, as well as toiletries and paper products. Saturday morning, July 28, from 7:00 till 11:00 A.M. the bags will be picked up and the donated items brought back to the church and transported to the Food Pantry. The church will also have a drop-off area set-up at the downtown city square park Saturday morning (July 28th) till 11:00 AM.

Those interested in volunteering to help with the food drive are welcome to meet at the church (1108 S. First Avenue, Broken Bow) at 6:30 P.M. July 25, or at 7:00 A.M. July 28. More information is available by calling 308-870-2035.

The Broken Bow Food Pantry operates out of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Broken Bow. In addition to accepting donated non-perishable food items, toiletries and paper products, monetary donations are also accepted.
