Loyd Yarrington, 62

Loyd Yarrington, age 62 of Broken Bow, died Oct. 19, 2011, at the Callaway District Hospital in Callaway.
Loyd was born March 15, 1949, at Arnold, to Arthur and Verla (Pearce) Yarrington. Loyd attended school at Brewster and Arnold and graduated from Arnold High School in 1968. After his education he joined the Marines and served in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged in 1970. He returned to Arnold. He married Patricia Arndt Dec. 5, 1970. Loyd worked in construction and later farmed. They made their home in Broken Bow and in Arnold. In 1985 they moved back to Broken Bow where they lived until his death.
Loyd liked to gamble, go places, do yard work, wild horse racing in his younger days and was a good pool player. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he especially loved his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Pat of Broken Bow; one daughter, Misty (Jeff) King of Callaway; one son, Shad (Marie) Yarrington of Broken Bow; one brother, Larry Yarrington of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Jessie Yarrington, Tyler Yarrington, Codi King, Kacee King, Jacob King and Summer Yarrington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Shon; and one brother, Butch.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 24, in Govier Brothers Mortuary with Minister Kathy Salts officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family. Inurnment will be at a later date.
