Margaret (Joan) Lenstrom, 74

Margaret J. Lenstrom (Joan), of Comstock, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 18, at the Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent with the Rev. Don Schauda officiating. Burial will be in the Douglas Grove Cemetery west of Comstock. Visitations will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lenstrom was born July 11, 1937, in Trenton, and spent her chidhood in the westren Nebraska area. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1956.
September 23, 1956, she married Victor R. Lenstrom (Vic) at the Sioux Ordinance Depot in Sidney. They made their home in Denver, Colo., where their children Norman, Mark, Lloyd, Margaret and Vicky were born.
In the fall of 1969, they moved to Victor's childhood home of Comstock and remained there the rest of their lives. Joan was a homemaker and worked hard to provide a good home for her family, often making meals from scratch and canning fruits and vegatables.
In addition she was the number one fan of her family. She always was there cheering for her children and later in life her grandchildren at sporting events and school programs.
She enjoyed collecting dolls and was known in the Comstock area for her "Doll House". She also enjoyed attending car shows all over Nebraska with her husband.
Joan is survived by her sister, Delores Hegarty of Platteville, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Bill Divine of Sargent; sons and daughter-in-law, Norman and Gayle Lenstrom of Greeley, Colo., Mark Lenstrom of Broken Bow, Lloyd Lenstrom and special friend Deb Prucha of Burwell, Penny Grossaint of Greeley, Colo., Renee Lenstrom of Ansley and Christina Lenstrom of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Danny and Lindsey Oster of Evans, Colo., Nathan and Brittany Paulding of Orlando, Fla., Jason Lenstrom of Grand Island, Marcus Lenstrom of Broken Bow, Dakota, Raymond and Starla Divine of Sargent, and one great-grandson. Brogan Lenstrom of Grand Island.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Calvin and Lois Emerson; brother, Howard (Hub) Emerson; infant daughter, Vicky, and her husband of 47 years, Victor.
