Marguerite Bristol, 91

Marguerite Bristol, age 91 of Ansley, died Feb. 5, 2014, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Marguerite was born at home Oct. 28, 1922, in the Happy Hollow Community, to Arthur and Alta (Swancutt) Staab. She attended country school at Happy Hollow thru the 8th grade and graduated from Ansley High School in 1941.
She attended Kearney State College, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in education. She later received her masters degree in education.
Marguerite taught several schools in Custer County. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and played at the church for many years. She also enjoyed her flowers, garden and traveling. In 1963, she traveled to the Holy Land.
June 4, 1966, she married Roscoe Bristol at the First Baptist Church in Ansley, which she was a life time member. They lived on the Bristol family farm, moving to Ansley. After retirement they spent several winters in Arizona.
Roscoe passed away in April 2002, and Marguerite lived at home until July 2012, when she moved to Off Broadway Assisted Living in Broken Bow, then to Rose Lane Care Home in Loup City.
Survivors include her brother, Orie and wife Edie of Omaha; sister-in-law, Donna Staab of Broken Bow; sister-in-law, Iona Bristol of Burwell, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Johnny, Walter, Glenn, Harvey, Herbert, Robert and Norman.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Ansley. Burial was in the Ansley Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Ansley.
