Mildred Cook, 98

Mildred Irene Cook, age 98, of Broken Bow, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow.
Mildred was born Feb. 21, 1916, in York County, to Christian D. and Ida Mae (Schneller) Hanneman. Mildred grew up in the Ansley area. She graduated from Ansley High School in 1932.
March 24, 1937, Mildred married Arthur W. Cook . They farmed together in Custer County. They retired in 1977 to Broken Bow. Arthur died in 1982. Mildred was a resident of Golden Living Center in Broken Bow at the time of her death. Mildred loved her Evangelical Free Church family. She was an excellent seamstress sewing for her family and community. She also enjoyed gardening.
Funeral services were Monday, March 31, at 2 p.m. in the Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Scott Harvey officiating. Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements.
Mildred is survived by Karen Davis of Broomfield, Colo.; Nancy Harris of Mc-Cloud, Okla.; Donald Royle of Kearney; Rita Ross of Newark, Del.; Lori Ferguson and husband Jerry of Holdrege, and several other neices and nephews.
