Broken Bow Rescue was called to the scene of a one vehicle rollover accident Monday afternoon at around 3:30 p.m.
Johnie Sikes, 66 of Anselmo, was driving a 2009 Dodge pickup approximately six and a half miles west of Broken Bow on Highway 2, when he lost control and rolled the pickup one and a half times. The pickup came to rest on the drivers side in the ditch on the north side of the highway, near the railroad tracks.
It is believed the accident was the result of a medical condition of the driver. Custer County Sheriff Dan Osmond said once Sikes was given glucose for his low blood sugar, he appeared fine.
Sikes was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, which Osmond says may have prevented serious injury. Sikes was transported to Jennie Melham Medical Center by Broken Bow ambulance, where he was treated and released.
