Patricia Tierney, 91

Patricia Ann Tierney of Falls Church, Virg., passed away May 29, 2011. She was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Omaha, to John and Orah Tierney of Broken Bow, where she was raised until 1934, when the family moved to Scottsbluff.
In 1942, she moved to Washington D.C. where she began an illustrious career in government services working for the Defense Atomic Support Agency and the Defense Nuclear Agency Security Division. As a dedicated public servant, she was awarded the Federal Meritorious Service Award prior to her retirement in 1975. She retained a strong interest in local and national affairs until her passing.
She is survived by brothers, John of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Bernard of Denver, Colo., and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Falls Church, Virg. June 14. 2011. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m., Aug 27, 2011, at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Broken Bow with a reception following at noon at the Arrow Hotel.
