Paul Little, 91

Paul Raymond Little of Mullen, age 91, passed away March 7, 2012 at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln.
Paul was born in Southern Cherry County Aug. 8, 1920, to Carl and Tennie (Long) Little. He attended grade school in Cherry County and had one year of high school in Mullen. He was an honorary graduate of Mullen High School in 2000.
Paul worked on area ranches until enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1942. He served his country at Omaha Beach on D-Day and his LCT crew received the Presidential Unit Citation for actions on Omaha Beach that day. In 1946 he was honorably discharged.
Paul married Goldie Maire Jan. 28, 1953, in Mullen where they made their life long home. Three sons were born into this union; Gary, Alan and Tony. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in January of 2012.
Paul worked at the Mullen Co-op, Lowe Hardware, Johnson Feed store and Mullen Public Schools. After his retirement he helped mow and trim grass at Cedarview Cemetery. One of his hobbies was working on Maytag washers and dryers.
Paul is survived by his wife, Goldie of Mullen; sons, Gary (Marg) of Kearney, Alan (Bonnie) of North Platte, and Tony (Anne) of Kearney; grandchildren, Bri (Justin) Moore, Mandi (Grant) Mollring, Eric (Melissa) Little, Darrin Little, Janelle Little (fiancé Drew Bauer), Nolan (Laura) Little, Lana Little, Rylan (Kayla) Little; great-grandchildren, Alex, Kaleb and Taylor Moore, Jackson Little, Emryk, Arlo and soon to be baby Little.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Elmer, Claude and Ivan; sisters, Thelma Pearman, Minnie Gier Miller and Neva Jones Andrews.
Services were March 13, 2012, at the Mullen Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedarview Cemetery with military honors.
Memorials may be given to Cedarview Cemetery, Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home or donor’s choice. Mullen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 308-546-2260
