Richard Foote, 78

Richard K. Foote, of Kimberling City, Mo., son of Robert and Garnet Foote, was born Sept. 5, 1933, in Hastings. He departed this life Dec. 9, 2011, in his home, surrounded by family, at the age of 78.
Dick graduated from Hastings High School in 1951, and Hastings College in 1957. He served in the U. S. Army from 1954-1956 and the Army Reserves for two years. Dick received the Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Service Medal. He was always very proud of his country and proud to be an American.
Dick served as Jaycee President in Hastings and a U. S. National Director as well as a Senator of the Jaycee’s International. He served on the board and was an officer of the Lion’s Club and Chamber of Commerce in Hastings and Broken Bow. Dick served on various church boards and committees wherever he lived.
He was a board member of Christian Associates in Kimberling City, Mo., and a member of Kimberling City United Methodist Church. Dick was affiliated with Ace Hardware from 1960-1982 and worked for Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo., the last 17 years.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and twin sister, Rachel Wakeman.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Foote of Kimberling City, Mo.; two sons, Jeffrey Foote and wife Connie of Omaha, and Craig Foote and wife Lori of Lincoln; two daughters, Syndee Blackburn of Berthord, Colo., and Heidi Stark of Collinsville, Okla.; brother, Robert Foote and wife Jane of Hastings; mother-in-law, Maxine Thomsen of Springfield, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Kimberling City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cliff Crockett and the Rev. Mark Lenneville officiating, under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home-South, Kimberling City. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church.
