Rosalie Turley, 80

Rosalie Agnes Seda Turley passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at her home in Arnold. She was born Nov. 2, 1930, to Stanley and Mary (Janasofsky) Seda in Arnold, on a country farm in Mills Valley.
She attended Mills Valley grade school and graduated from Arnold High School in 1949. After high school, she worked at the Arnold Hospital for Jay and Norna Tryon for three years as a nurse and assisted Dr. Reeves, Dr. McShane, Dr. Chaloupka and Dr. Bryson with surgery and baby delivery, doing the duties of an R.N. She brought much cheer and laughter to many patients.
October 24, 1952, Rosalie married William T. Turley in Hutchinson, Kan., where Tim was stationed and serving four years in the U.S. Navy. They lived in Kansas for two years until Tim received his discharge in 1954.
They returned to Arnold and farmed Tim’s home place. To this union five children were born; Yvonne Marie, William Dee, Tami Lea, Debra Louise and Tim Matthew. Rosalie was a confirmed member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Arnold. She and Tim retired from farming in January 2000. She enjoyed cooking big meals, embroidering and crocheting in her spare time and she also wrote the rural community news for 41 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Tim, after 52 years of marriage; her parents; two brothers, Lewis and Edward, and a son-in-law,
Gary Rodgers of North Platte.
Survivors include daughters, Yvonne (Dennis) Herzog of Blythe, Calif., Tami (Roger) Holland of North Platte, Debra (Shawn) Scott of North Kingstown, R.I.; sons, William (Barb) Turley of Mora, Minn. and Tim (Pat) Turley of Arnold; grandchildren, John Turley of Arnold, Jordan and Weston Turley of Savage, Minn.; step-grandson, Zach Lewis of North Platte; sister, Mary Ann Walker of Broken Bow; sister-in-law, Ann Seda of Arnold, and many
nieces, nephews and friends, including special lifelong friends, Larry and Ruth Ross of Arnold.
Services were Monday, Aug. 8, at the United Methodist Church of Arnold with the Rev. Ben Eickhoff officiating. Burial was in the Arnold Cemetery. Memorials may go to Arnold Fire and Rescue.
Arnold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
